THE STARTING POINT

An idea, a set of requirements, and no team to build it

In 2018, a fintech entrepreneur approached EffectiveSoft with an idea: a trading platform built around commission-free trading, transparent pricing, and an experience simple enough for everyday users. There was no engineering team, no infrastructure, and no working software—just the concept and rough designs.

EffectiveSoft joined as the core engineering partner and took the idea from that starting point through native iOS and Android apps and the back-end services behind them. The first release covered the essential capabilities required for market launch: authentication, watchlists, instrument pages with charts, portfolio management, trading history, and deposits and withdrawals. It supported commission-free trading across stocks, crypto assets, and currency pairs. Both apps were launched by the end of 2018, giving the client a real product to test against real users.

PRODUCT EXPANSION

From core trading to a full-featured experience

With the core mobile experience in place, the platform continued to expand through new trading, financial, market-information, and payment capabilities.

  • Limit orders and multiple watchlists for more precise, more organized trading.

  • An in-app spot wallet, dividend-adjustment processing, and balance-based earnings in supported regions.

  • Market news and trading insights built directly into the app.

  • Apple Pay, bank cards, bank transfers, and crypto-based transfers added to give users more ways to fund and manage accounts.

THE PLATFORM BECOMES AN ECOSYSTEM

One connected solution for trading and operations

As the product matured, its complexity moved well past the trading screen itself. EffectiveSoft built a Management Console for the client's internal teams, covering instrument management, activity monitoring, reporting, session handling, and other operational workflows.

The next milestone was the web application, extending the same trading experience to desktop-oriented users and broadening how people could reach the platform. Mobile, web, back-end services, internal tooling, and payment integrations now function as one connected solution.

OPERATING AT SCALE

Growth raised the cost of getting things wrong

As the platform scaled, reliability became as critical as feature delivery. The team had to maintain real-time market data during periods of high volatility, adapt integrations as third-party providers changed their APIs or regional availability, and ensure that critical financial logic remained accurate under load.

Payments required continuous oversight. Providers could become unavailable in specific regions, sometimes requiring replacement integrations within tight deadlines. Margin call logic became one of the most business-critical parts of the system: it had to calculate accurately and hold up under heavy load during sharp price moves, since a failure there hits both operations and user trust directly.

To handle that, EffectiveSoft put dedicated monitoring, structured L3 engineering support, and 24/7 on-duty developer rotations in place, working alongside the client's own L1 and L2 support team. Significant changes are reviewed before development begins, taking into account the existing architecture, operational workflows, and third-party constraints. For technically complex requests, an investigation team assesses the proposed change before implementation. If an approach cannot be implemented reliably within the current constraints, the team flags the issue early and works with the client on an alternative.

PREPARING FOR REGULATED MARKETS

Assessing architecture readiness for the next stage of growth

As the client prepares to enter additional regulated markets, EffectiveSoft conducted a comprehensive architecture readiness assessment to identify the technical and operational changes needed to support further expansion.

Over approximately three months, the team held around 60 structured sessions with representatives from across the project, reviewing system architecture, security, code quality, database design, CI/CD practices, delivery processes, and the use of AI tools in engineering.

To address gaps in the existing documentation, EffectiveSoft reconstructed a high-level architecture diagram, mapped key system flows, and reviewed the back-end and web application codebases.

The findings were consolidated into an Architecture Review Document, accompanied by prioritized recommendations for engineering leadership. The resulting roadmap identifies which components can be reused, which areas require improvement, and what changes are needed to prepare the platform for expansion into new markets.

AI-POWERED TRADING INSIGHTS

AI agent integration delivered in just two weeks

EffectiveSoft developed and deployed an integration that allows platform users to connect AI agents to their trading accounts and analyze trading performance, trading history, and open positions through AI-powered tools.

The integration is now live in production, bringing AI-powered analytics directly into the trading experience.

IMPACT

From an early-stage product to a global multi-asset brokerage platform

EffectiveSoft has remained the client's core engineering partner throughout the platform’s evolution, supporting its growth from an early-stage product into a global multi-asset brokerage platform.

Deep knowledge of the platform’s architecture and production environment enables the team to address complex engineering challenges, introduce new capabilities, and support continued product development and market expansion.

WHAT’S NEXT

Turning the roadmap into action and advancing AI opportunities

With the architecture assessment complete, EffectiveSoft and the client are moving forward with prioritized improvements across system architecture, security, software delivery, and operational processes.

In parallel, the team is evaluating additional AI-powered capabilities for the web platform, assessing each use case against user value, technical feasibility, and applicable regulatory requirements.
